What is C-PACE and how would it help my Chamber Members?
What if you, as the Chamber of Commerce, could let your members in on an underused financing option that helped them upgrade their property AND increase cash flow?
C-PACE, or “Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy,” is a program that allows commercial property owners to finance renewable energy, energy efficiency, and water efficiency upgrades to their commercial properties for up to 25% of the market value of their commercial property.
As business owners struggle to maintain their properties, let alone make upgrades – including several COVID19 related updates — any tool which helps them is vitally important.
What is frequently found is that, by making upgrades in their utilities, property owners save enough money on those monthly bills, that the savings more than cover the loan payments on the improvements. This allows property owners to make much needed upgrades sooner rather than later.
C-PACE is smart legislation that allows commercial property owners to maintain and improve their properties in a financially responsible way while contributing toward environmental conservation.
As the voice for business in your community, you play a critical role in helping spread the word about this valuable program. Please consider going through your member list and think of the members who would benefit from learning about C-PACE. This includes:
- Commercial Property Owners, including multi-family complexes (minimum 5 units), hotels, senior living facilities, educational facilities, entertainment, strip malls, and more
- Property Development companies
