C-PACE financing allowed the company to build a 500,000-square-foot industrial facility that adheres to the Panda Biotech mission of manufacturing products using sustainable practices. The ability to process 22,000 pounds of fiber per hour makes the Panda Gin the largest industrial hemp processing facility in the western hemisphere and second largest in the world.
Impact
By obtaining C-PACE financing, the property owner was able to upgrade the building envelope, HVAC, plumbing, domestic hot water, lighting systems and controls, which enabled Wichita County to further its sustainability and economic development goals while reducing demand on the Texas electrical grid. The improvements will reduce the property’s annual electricity and water consumption by 68% and 94%, respectively.
