Independence Medical Center is a 57,000-square-foot medical office building located north of Dallas in Plano. At the time of the application, the property was being renovated, and the owner opted to incorporate energy-saving improvements that qualified for C-PACE.
Impact
By obtaining C-PACE financing, the property owner was able to upgrade the building’s HVAC system and common areas. They also opted to add 56 parking spaces with solar-paneled rooftops. In addition to driving down utility costs, the improvements will enable Collin County to advance their sustainability and economic development goals while significantly reducing demand on local utilities. The associated improvements are expected to reduce the property’s annual energy usage by 15%.
