Collin Creek Mall in Plano is the subject of a massive mixed-use redevelopment project that will add thousands of new homes and apartments, retail shops and restaurants, office space and more to Collin County. At the time of the application, the sponsor was preparing to begin construction on the underground parking garage, and the owner opted to incorporate energy-saving improvements that qualified for C-PACE financing.

Impact

By obtaining C-PACE financing, the property owner was able to include high-efficiency lighting, cooling systems and elevators, which enabled Collin County to advance their sustainability and economic development goals while significantly reducing demand on local utilities. The associated improvements are expected to reduce the property’s annual electricity by 10%.
