Holiday Inn Express/Staybridge Suites is a dual-branded, 17-story hotel that replaces a large parking lot in Downtown Houston near Minute Maid Park. In addition to 275 guest rooms with traditional and extended-stay options, the property also offers corporate and social gathering spaces and a host of luxury amenities. It also includes 2,000 square feet of ground-level retail.
Impact
By obtaining C-PACE financing, the property owner was able to upgrade the building envelope, HVAC, plumbing, domestic hot water, lighting systems and controls, which enabled Harris County to further its sustainability and economic development goals while reducing demand on the Texas electrical grid. The improvements are expected to reduce annual energy usage and annual water usage by 48% and 9%, respectively.
