PACE in Fisher County, Texas

Fisher County, located in the heart of West Texas, is a rural county steeped in history and tradition. Established in 1876 and named after Samuel Rhoads Fisher, a signer of the Texas Declaration of Independence, the county covers approximately 900 square miles of rolling plains, picturesque ranchlands and wide-open skies emblematic of the Lone Star State. The county is home to approximately 3,500 residents, according to recent estimates.

Fisher County’s economy is rooted in agriculture, with farming and ranching serving as its primary industries. Cotton and grain production are key contributors, as are cattle and livestock operations. In recent years, the county has also become a site for renewable energy development, with wind farms emerging as a significant contributor to the local economy.

In 2024, Fisher County Commissioners Court approved Lone Star PACE as a program administrator of C-PACE (Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy) financing to facilitate sustainable property improvements and economic development. This program supports efficiency upgrades to commercial properties, making Fisher County an attractive location for projects in hospitality, mixed-use development, retail, industrial, office and multifamily housing.

With its rich history and commitment to growth and sustainability, Fisher County is poised for continued success as a cornerstone of Texas’ past, present and future.

More information on C-PACE can be found in our latest Annual Report, which includes recent projects.
